Welcome to a life with a British Shorthair.

Here are some questions we get asked.

Q-Are kittens registered with a governing body.

A-Our kittens are registered with NZCF.  We are members of by NZCF and CATS INC.

Q-Will my kittens eyes go orange.

A-Yes, kittens eyes are blue when they are born and slowly change to orange when your kitten gets older.

Q-Can I cut my kittens nails

A-Yes, this is very easy to do we use human nail clippers.

Q-Is my kitten micro chipped.

A-Yes, you need to register this number with Animal companions register at www.animalregister.co.nz

Q-Why do I need to pay for my kitten before he/she is desexed.

A-All our kittens are of very high quality with international bloodlines not available to most breeders in Australasia, we have many enquires from all over NZ and Australia for breeding kittens but we are more than happy to sell these same kittens to pet homes also. We ask for full payment as your commitment to your kitten before spaying so that we know you will go ahead with getting your kitten.

Q-Why will I lose my deposit if I don’t want the kitten.

A-We are very clear about paying deposits, we have given our word to you as a breeder that we will keep your chosen kitten just for you and not sell him/her to anyone else. By doing this we turn people away who enquire about kittens already spoken for.

Is this legal, yes it is as we clearly spell this out before you pay your deposit,  you are aware of this at the time before you make any payments.

Ask Questions 1st

Any questions need to be asked BEFORE you pay your deposit, after this is paid its to late to have 2nd thoughts about sex or color.

Worming and deflea.

Kittens are wormed and defleaed before pickup. We advise that you get your vet to worm kitten at his next vet visit when you do his next vaccinations. Fleas are seasonal so best to ask you vet the right time to do this but if you have any other pets please make sure that you flea them before your new kitten arrives home.

Q-Why do we need to fill out the on line form.

A-Firstly this helps us know if a kitten is right for you, we ask your details to know if kittens will be flown or picked up in person. Plus if you want the kittens papers when registered we have your address details on file.  It also confirms that you have read all the information on deposits and payments and understand how it all works.

Q-What do I get when I pick up kitten.

A-We give you 2 types of dry food, vaccination card, desexing vet certificate,  food vouchers and kitten pack. Sadly if kitten is flying we are unable to include anything but a blanket and vaccination certificate as the airlines don’t allow anything to be attached to the crates.

Kittens going local also may have their own travel crates depending on supply.

Here are a few pictures of what your kitten is used to including his/her kitty litter. We feed both Black Hawk and Royal Canin dry food plus other wet food, so when you take your kitten you can change him over to what you prefer without to much upset.
